Summary
The project involved the construction of a new 70-storey Integrated Resort located in Sydney’s Barangaroo South site. This ambitious development features a 6-star hotel, casino, apartments, retail spaces, and restaurants.
Key responsibilities included commercial contractual negotiations on utilities contracts, construction contracts, and project development agreements, as well as securing approvals and planning with the Barangaroo Delivery Authority (BDA), Sydney City Council, and the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA). The project demanded extensive design, engineering, and coordination of major plant services, including Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, Audio-Visual, Security, Surveillance, Pools, Building Maintenance Units (BMUs), Fire, and Lift systems.
Coordinating and negotiating the major infrastructure requirements for site services was also crucial, encompassing connections to site-wide utilities providers, a district cooling plant, HV networks, and recycled water systems. The building is designed to meet Green Star and NABERS ratings and includes standby generators with SCADA and PLC systems, as well as a new N+1 Data Centre. A significant gaming floor was specifically designed to accommodate cigarette and cigar smoking throughout, enhancing the resort’s unique offerings.
