Integrated Resort Bid – Crown Brisbane

Specialised was responsible for coordinating the concept designs of all services and liaising with authorities for the master planning of a campus-style facility aimed at bidding for a new resort complex. 

This ambitious project included a combination of a 6-Star Hotel and a 5-Star Hotel, along with a ballroom, conference and function centre, high-end VIP gaming facilities, and general gaming areas. The design also accounted for areas catering to cigar and cigarette smoking patrons, signature restaurants, luxury apartments, and a variety of retail and food court offerings, all supported by substantial on-site car parking. Key tasks involved coordinating with existing utilities providers and authorities, including natural gas, power, water and waste, communications, and stormwater management. The design encompassed a district cooling plant, a central heating plant, both high and low voltage networks, tri-generation capabilities, and a black water treatment plant. 

The project faced several challenges, including the need for campus-style services across all buildings, accommodating the unique architectural requirements of the site, and managing the unprecedented scale and scrutiny associated with such a high-risk, high-profile development in Brisbane, particularly given its connection to the Crown brand.
